Matthew Andrews is the Vice President of the Xaana Artificial General Intelligence Institute (UAGI). As the Vice President, Matthew plays a key role in driving UAGI’s vision and strategy, working alongside our distinguished faculty to provide students with a comprehensive education in AGI principles, advancements, breakthroughs, and applications.
With over 28 years of experience in the banking and accounting sectors, Matt brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team. His career began in various roles with ANZ, Macquarie, and St George. He later joined CPA Australia, the largest accounting body in Australia, where he served as a Business Development Manager in Sydney and Canberra for 12 years before being appointed to the ACT General Manager role, which he held for six years. During his tenure, he oversaw the development and execution of member growth, retention, and engagement strategies, while also promoting the accounting and business leadership sector. More recently, Matt served as a Director of the Canberra Business Chamber.
Matt grew up on a dairy farm on the mid-north coast of NSW, and he currently farms sheep on his property, an hour away from Canberra, where he resides with his wife Kathy. He is deeply committed to his community and serves as a coach for the Ginninderra Cricket Club Women's premier cricket team and the under 18's team, as well as a mentor for the Australian National University's Momentum program. Matt is also a volunteer member of the NSW Rural Fire Service.
